Meetings can be effective or can be a waste of time. They could be the best or the worst experience for the people in a certain group. Apart from that the meetings have also a price – this is the time, which the employees spend on them, the money, which the organization pay for the presence of these employees, materials, which are used during the meeting etc.
The surveys show that people, who work, spend some 25 pct of their time on their working place in meetings; mid-level managers spend on average about 2 days per week on meetings; and the managers with high positions – about four days. The surveys show that about 50% of the meetings are a waste of time. That’s why it’s especially important the time spent on meetings to be used in the best possible way, which depends on the skills needed for carrying out meetings.
