TRAINING SERVICES


One of the strategic directions in the activities of Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) is working for development of organizational capacity of different groups and organizations. Our efforts in that direction are aimed at increasing productivity and effectiveness of the organizations through investing in the knowledge and skills of the people, who work in/for them.

The increase of the organizational capacity and effectiveness can be achieved through improvement of the skills and increase of the experience of the most precious resource in the organization – the people. Thus the training and consulting services we offer help our clients to achieve their strategic goals through their people.


What make us different?



Many organizations offer trainings, claiming that people need them. What make us different from these organisations?

Choosing WCIF for a training partner means that you have chosen the organization which will devote enough time for understanding your concrete training or consultancy needs and will offer to you the best solutions.

WCIF has established a pool of trainers, who have experience in the field of organizational and individual professional development. Their style of working is practically orientated and is in line with the new standards in the fields, in which you wish to develop.

The offered topics below and the training delivery methodology are developed on the base of WCIF long-term experience in the field of adults learning and organizational consulting. Since its establishment the team of WCIF has developed and delivered more than 140 trainings on different topics for more than 300 organizations in the whole country. The total number of all the participants in the trainings held by us exceeds 900 people.

The challenge we face offering training and consultancy services is our wish to be adequate to the dynamically changing environment. That’s why we adapt every training or consultancy to the specific needs of each client. We constantly update the content and the methodology of the trainings and the consultations which we offer on one hand alongside the modern world tendencies in the filed of the adults learning and taking into account the specific local requirements.


METHODOLOGY OF TRAININGS


The trainings we offer stimulate active participation by using various interactive training methods – case-studies, group discussions, role plays, small groups work etc.

 

  • Learning by doing

The trainings we offer are developed in line with the four basic phases from the “Cycle of learning” of David Colb:

By connecting practice with learning we give the participants an opportunity to check a formulated by them principle by applying it in a concrete practical situation during the training. At the same time they make conclusions and formulate principles on the basis of the experience acquired during the training.

 

  • Experimental learning

We believe that considering of the former experience is an important precondition for the effective learning. That’s why during the trainings we give priority to the experience of the participants in the context of the presented new concepts, theories and methods. Thus the participants in the training are placed in a situation in which they can develop their already existing knowledge and skills.



WHAT DO WE OFFER?



1. Trainings upon request: they are structured as to respond most completely to the specific needs of a particular organization regarding its development. They can include one training event or modular trainings during a certain period of time, as well as additional consulting and support. 

2. Long-term training programs: they are directed to people, who want to increase their competence in a certain sphere. The trainings are structured in consecutive training modules and the total length of the program ranges from three to twelve months.

In all the trainings the participants receive training packs with handouts on the topic of the training and a list with additional literature. The participants receive a certificate for participation at the end of the training.



WHERE?



According to the will and possibilities of our clients the trainings could be conducted:

  • in house/office – at the participants’ workplace; 
  • residential – out of the place where the participants live; 
  • at WCIF premises.


THE TRAININGS ARE DESIGNED FOR:



  • People who wish to acquire new knowledge and skills in a certain field and at the same time want to develop and enrich the knowledge and skills they already have. 
  • Organizations that wish to develop capacities and to increase their effectiveness. 
  • Group of organizations (coalitions, networks etc.), which have common interests and want to cooperate better.
