Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) and First Investment Bank announce a new session of “Social Responsibility of First Investment Bank” fund.

The fund aims at giving opportunities for development of children and youths from orphanages in Bulgaria, working for their social adaptation, realization in life and preparation for independent life.

The maximum amount of financing that will be given to a project is 5,000 Bulgarian levs. Most of the participants are expected to apply for financing ranging from 3,000 to 3,500 levs, at the same time attracting additional resources from the participants in the project (people from the community, local authorities and institutions, companies etc.)

The maximum length of the projects is eight months. The implementation of the projects has to be planned for the period from mid-March 2007 to the beginning of November 2007.

The application deadline is January 29 (Monday), 2007.

Non-governmental organizations, chitalishta (comminity centres), non-registered civic groups and local authorities can apply with projects at the third session of the fund.

At the third session may apply organizations, whose proposals have been rejected at the first and the second session.

Also projects that are a follow up or a supplement to the projects that have been supported at the first and the second sessions of the fund can apply. These projects will be examined and evaluated separately. They can receive financing at a maximum value of 3,000 levs.

At the current session about 10 projects will be supported.

The first session of the fund was announced at the end of 2004 and five projects were supported on it. The second session was announced at the end of 2005 and seven projects were approved on it.
