51 organisations from the whole country applied for the fund "Social responsibility of First Investment Bank"

On 01.02.2006 at 17.00 o’clock expired the final term for submission of projects for the second session of the fund “Social responsibility of First Investment Bank”. The fund is a unique joint initiative of First Investment Bank and Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.
By the final term, which expired on 01.02.2006 at 17.00 o'clock, projects of 51 organisations from 30 towns and villages were submitted at WCIF office. Five of the projects were submitted on behalf of municipalities (Boboshevo, Dupnitsa, Rila, Sliven and Jakoruda), five on behalf of community centres, and the rest on behalf of associations and foundations. At this session no projects on behalf of non-registered civic groups were submitted.
After the examination of the documents six of the organisations were discarded due to formal reasons – lack of a full set of documents.

From now on the competition procedure will proceed in two main stages, which are described in instructions for application.
Firstly, WCIF Advisory Group examines and discusses the received project proposals. WCIF Advisory Group comprises of members of leading NGOs, as well as of state institutions (Ministry of Education and Science, State Agency for Child Protection).
Secondly, representatives of First Investment Bank will take a final decision for approval or disapproval of the projects, proposed for financing from the Advisory Group.
The results from the competition will be published on WCIF website by 28.02.2006 and after that all the organisations will receive official letters from WCIF.
