Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation organized Community Development Summer School – Bulgaria 2006 that took place in Bankya from September 9 to 17, 2006.
The summer school – first of its kind in Bulgaria, is implemented in the frame of an international project “Community Development – discourse and practice in CEE Project”, which is carried out in partnership with three non-governmental organisations (Romanian Association for Community Development, Partners for Democratic Change, Slovakia and Allavida, UK) with the financial support of the European Commission. The project aims at increasing knowledge and skills of people that work or are interested in working in the social development field.
In the Summer school took part 40 practitioners from Bulgaria and Romania, who will share within eight days their experience and new ideas for work.
Trainers and lecturers in the Summer School are representatives of Bulgarian and foreign non-governmental organizations and institutions with a name in the trainings for adults and with a many-year experience in the field of community development such as: Alina Porumb – Romania, Blazena Huskova – Czech Republic, Dimitur Tzolov – Bulgaria, Dushan Ondrushek and Karolina Mikova – Slovakia, Katarina Kubinakova – Czech republic, Rachel Marshal, Ireland, Leo Singer – Slovakia, Nicolae Cuta – Romania and Janos Wagner – Hungary.
