Investing in socially responsible communities
General conditions

Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation regularly announces calls for proposals for financing, consultations and trainings. There is no current financing for projects available, so you can apply only when a concrete call for proposals for financing, consultations or trainings is announced.

All calls for proposals are published on WCIF web site at least a months and a half earlier before the deadline. Information about calls for proposals is also spread by many information bulletins, publications in electronic media and specialized web sites, through direct sending of information to former and current participants in WCIF programs as well as through letters to the local authorities.

All individuals, legal entities as well as informal groups that fulfill certain conditions for the concrete call for proposals are allowed to participate in WCIF calls for proposals. Individuals may apply only for trainings or practices but not for financial grants. WCIF do not give individual scholarships, social aids and do not cover the expenses for medical treatment abroad or other individual expenses.

WCIF respects the principles of equal treatment and not discrimination on sex, ethnical, religious or other principle.
WCIF makes a lot of efforts in order to provide a maximum transparency and clear conditions on all stages of application, examination and approvement/rejection of the received applications. When there is a call for proposals WCIF publishes on its web site a list of all the applied organizations and afterwards a list of the approved organizations/projects.

WCIF financial manager, office manager and sometimes the trainings manager give preliminary clarifications and consultations to all interested individuals and organizations. The consultations may be given by telephone, by e-mail as well as at WCIF office. If you would like to arrange a personal meeting, please call preliminary in order to arrange a concrete day and hour.

All applications submitted at WCIF pass through two stages of examination. During the first stage WCIF checks the applications if they are in compliance with the technical requirements of application (if the application form is submitted in the necessary number of copies, if all needed additional documents are enclosed, if the application form is submitted within the deadline etc.). The application forms that are not in compliance with the technical requirements drop out from the application procedure. During the second stage the received applications are examined by WCIF Grant’s Committee.

The Grant’s Committee is an informal, but very important group, that helps WCIF in taking decision whether a certain project to be financed or not. Grant’s Committee comprises of representatives of leading non-governmental organizations, business and local authorities representatives as well as representatives of the state institutions. WCIF tries to include in the different Grant’s Committees professionals from different spheres with diverse experience and living in different places.

WCIF does not disclose the names of the Grant’s Committee’s members to other organizations (including the applying organizations) before and during the projects’ evaluation. The names of the Grant’s Committee’s are published in WCIF annual report for the respective year.

The procedure is different when certain organization or individual applies for training, consultation or practice. The concrete procedures for selection in these cases are described in the application documents.

WCIF demands from all organizations, applying for financing, to provide their own financial and non-financial contribution that depending on the concrete program may vary from 10 % to 50 %. WCIF tries to broaden the circle of financed organizations and that’s why tries not to finance organizations that have already been supported within the last two years.
